*Position Overview

Prototype Boat Builders are responsible for assembling and documenting engineering proto-type boats. Products built may include any Polaris Boat Product.

Essential Job Functions

·         Able to assemble boats

·         Able to take direction from product and manufacturing engineers

·         Able to custom build sub-assemblies

·         Able to use and read prints and tape measure efficiently

·         Knowledge of manufacturing principles

·         Knowledge of all air tools and hand tools such as screw guns, drills, and sanders 

·         Responsible for daily/weekly project schedule

·         Basic computer skills and experience with Microsoft Windows software

·         Responsible for maintaining BOM documentation

Requirements

·         Work inside without air conditioning

·         Able to stand and walk around all day

·         Stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling and bending frequently

·         Must be able to lift and handle up to 50 pounds of material

Other Skills/Abilities

·         Minimum of three years of boat building experience

·         Ability to be cross trained
