Elkhart, IndianaPosition Overview:
As a Bill of Materials (BOM) Manager you would be responsible to organize, conduct data analysis, audit the bill of materials, ensure accuracy, and find ways to make operations more efficient. The role is responsible for having a high level of interaction across all departments to ensure the completion of the bill of materials in a timely, efficient, and detailed manner. Additionally, you would be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and thoroughness of the Configurator.
Essential Job Functions:
Responsible for reviewing Bills of Materials and maintaining existing Bills of Materials in Syteline.
Responsible for the accuracy of the Bills of Materials.
Proficient in setting up new options and/or create rules to support various build configurations.
Responsible for handling change control.
Work with Program Managers, Purchasing, Engineering and Manufacturing teams to ensure that the BOM has the correct structure as well as the correct components and quantities within Syteline
Audit Bill of Materials information for accuracy and completeness, specifically: BOM linkages, Routings, BOM types, and shrinkage, etc.
Assist Purchasing and Engineering as needed in building and/or troubleshooting BOM costs.
Support accounting, purchasing, and manufacturing during inventories.
Perform special cost analysis, prepare reports, and other related duties as assigned.
Maintain and improve the cost accounting system; ensure procedures are followed for item cost maintenance.
Establishes material picking lists and kit sheets deriving from Bill of Materials.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree desired
A minimum of 3-5 years with Bill of Materials and Configurator experience
Experience and familiarity with inventory controls, MRP functionality, technical knowledge of product structure and processes
Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Additional requirements include: familiarity with personal computing software (i.e. MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint), MRP systems, Infor Cloudsuite & Configurator
Possesses a strong knowledge of configurator software and fundamental configurator logic
Excellent communication and strong interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively interact with all levels of the organization
Other Skills/Abilities
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical analysis
Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations
PPE Requirements: Safety glasses, ear protection
